Facets of Systemic Work
Some Philosophical Perspectives
Systemic Structural Constellations have proven to be a highly effective tool for therapeutic and advisory work. The deep impacts they make are based not least on the fact that they give insights into some fundamental principles of philosophy and logic. One could say that Systemic Structural Constellations visualize some aspects of philosophy and give them an immediate practical benefit.
In this recorded seminar, Matthias Varga von Kibéd focuses on the philosophical approaches to Systemic Structural Constellations that are represented by the words „systemic“ and „structure“. He illuminates Ludwig Wittgenstein‘s concepts of „facts“, „structure“ and „form“ as well as his distinction between wish and will. The presentation includes a glance at the „Form of Distinction“ by George Spencer Brown, on Heinz von Foerster‘s constructivism and on the General Semantic by A. H. S Korzybski. An early form of a systemic and constructivist way of thinking is the Buddhist philosophy of the dependent co-origination.
Further topics are amongst others: external and internal reframing, the importance of images and symbols and some details of the work of Virginia Satir.
A special point of view is to see Systemic Structural Constellations as a kind of language that goes beyond the possibilities of verbal language.
